Record a hunting, fishing or scouting outing
Keep the details and story of your day together.
Add your day
- Open Journal and choose New outing. Select Hunting, Fishing or Scouting, then add a date and title.
- Add city, state and an area such as a lake, river, trail or field. A precise map pin is optional. Use Find city on map, then drag the pin or enter coordinates to mark your spot.
- Add your method, species, companions, sightings, conditions and story. For fishing you can choose Fly fishing and record kept and released counts. Save the outing.
Conditions and decoy spreads
- Weather lookup is optional and depends on available observations for your date and area. Keep your own conditions in the free-text field even when weather is added.
- For waterfowl, select the hunt type to describe your decoy spread, upload a sketch, or both. A sketch counts toward the outing image limit.
Return and refine
- Open an outing from Journal to review it or edit its details. Search and filters help you find older outings. Insights shows totals and trends for your own journal.
